BEAUTIFUL COAST OF PAYS DE LA LOIRE

BEAUTIFUL COAST OF PAYS DE LA LOIRE

ADVERTISEMENT | Pays de la Loire is located in the west of France and is known for its natural landscape and numerous coastal stretches. A place to escape from everyday life for a few days. I’ll tell you a few of my favorite places and show you where you can see the most beautiful sunset, eat the most delicious shells and do the best beach activities.

La Baule

La Baule is one of the regions that is especially popular with surfers, hikers and foodies. And not only that – a walk on the beach is worth it all. The sunsets here were my absolute favorite. At the beach of Batz sur Mer, you can not only watch the surfers riding the waves, but also watch a perfect sunset in the meantime. In the restaurant M La Baule you can then end the evening with a delicious dinner and for a great overnight stay provides the Villa La Ruche. A small but nice house with only 3 bedrooms, a beautiful pool where you feel like you are on a tropical island. Here everything is handmade and so lovingly decorated. A real insider tip if you want to enjoy a few days off here! One of my absolute highlights in La Baule were definitely the salt lakes. These open up around the region and are definitely worth a stop, especially at sunset.

Saint-Nazaire

The cute harbor town of Saint-Nazaire is located further south of La Baule and is known for its daily boat trips. Here it is definitely worth once to explore the city by boat. We spent the afternoon on a catamaran together with Mouette and Sea. At sunset, you should definitely visit one of the numerous fishermen’s huts – the so-called pêcheries. You can book your own fishing hut at Jerôme’s Fishery No. 172 and enjoy a relaxing evening with a few drinks. If you love beach walks as much as I do, start a little stroll early in the morning along the publican’s path. You won’t regret it, because you can expect unbelievably beautiful views of the sea.

Saint Brevin

I have to admit, as much as I love to see the most beautiful sunsets and visit the most amazing beaches, Saint Brevin has really excited me about one thing in particular. Here I found a new hobby – beach sailing. At the Saint Brevin water sports center you can do just about anything around water sports activities, be it kitesurfing or windsurfing. I definitely can’t wait to do my laps on the beach again soon.

Pornic

One last insider tip is the small town of Pornic. Here you can find not only super delicious food, but also one of the most famous bike paths in Europe. You should definitely make a stop at L’Orangerie right in the center and try some oysters, because you really can’t get them any fresher than here. Together with our e-bikes from Sea, Bike and Sun, we took a tour through the towns of La Bernerie-en-Retz and Les Moutiers-en-Retz. Along the way, you’ll find beautiful stretches of beach and a great sunset spot right by one of the fishing huts. Don’t forget the wine, baguette and cheese 😉 Otherwise, go to Le 21 – really the best food on our whole France trip.

Pays de La Loire seems very inconspicuous, but has so much to offer. It’s the perfect place to get away for a few days and offers an incredible variety of things to do. For me, definitely a great place to get away from it all for a few days.
